WHAT MAKES COACHING DIFFERENT FROM OTHER OPTIONS?
Coaching is a relationship and an equal partnership between a coach and client. Coaching is not consulting — and it’s not a mentorship or instruction. With a consultant or mentor, you’ll receive an answer to a question based on their expertise and experience. An instructor teaches you a skill.

WHAT SHOULD YOU CONSIDER WHEN SELECTING A COACH?
Every person is different — and so the same is true for coaches. Many different factors should be considered when selecting a coach. You should ask any prospective coach several questions:
What coach-specific training and education have they received?
What relevant degrees, credentials, and certifications do they hold?
Are they a member of an accrediting body, such as the International Coaching Federation?
Asking these questions will help ensure that a coach has the proper training, education, and core coaching competencies and that the coach abides by a code of ethics and standards.
